Northbound Education is a study abroad consultancy and English preparation centre in Lahore, working with students across Pakistan for seven years. Everyone who advises here has studied abroad themselves. Fewer than four per cent of the student visa applications we have filed have been refused. This section explains how that is done and what we refuse to do to get it.

Anyone can say they care. These are five things that either happen on your file or do not, and you can check every one of them.

Right guidance

Start here if you have been given three different answers by three consultants.

Your shortlist is built from your grades, your budget and where you want to be after you graduate. Not from whichever university pays the highest commission that season. We hold fee, deposit, entry requirement and gap tolerance on 168 universities, and where we hold nothing the page says not confirmed rather than leaving a blank that reads as zero. Ask us why a university is on your list and you will get a reason, not a brochure.

Transparent processing

If you cannot tell what is happening with your file, we have failed.

Every stage has a status. Nothing is submitted on your behalf that you have not seen and approved first. You are told what is being sent, to whom, and when. Documents are uploaded once and reused rather than requested again at every stage. The commonest complaint about consultants in Pakistan is silence between steps, and it is the easiest one to fix.

Financially secure

Every rupee accounted for before you commit, not after.

You are given the full cost in writing at the start: tuition, the deposit that releases your offer, the maintenance you must show but do not spend, the visa fee, the health surcharge, the medical, the tests and our own fees. Two of those are routinely left out until they are due. The health surcharge alone is £1,552 for a one-year UK master’s, paid upfront, and most students first hear of it the week the visa is filed. You will hear it from us in the first meeting.

The right expertise

Advice from people who have done it, not read about it.

Every counsellor here is foreign qualified. They have sat the tests, filed the visas, gone through the interviews and arrived in a cold city knowing nobody. That is the difference between reading a checklist to you and knowing which step actually hurts. It also changes what we prepare you for: a credibility interview tests whether you know your own application, not your English, and only somebody who has sat in one knows that.

Guidance after you land

From people living the life you are about to live.

The support most consultancies end at the visa stamp. Ours does not. Your first month abroad is bank accounts, national insurance or tax numbers, registration deadlines, accommodation contracts, SIM cards and a timetable in a system you have never seen. We connect you to counsellors and former students who are living in that city now, because a person who did it eighteen months ago is worth more than any handbook.

Refusals from Pakistan rose sharply in 2026

The refusal rate for UK study visas from Pakistan moved from under 6% to around 41% in the six months to March 2026, the steepest rise of any major sending market. Sources: Home Office data reported by ICEF Monitor and Nous Group, May 2026.

Universities are protecting their own licences

A UK sponsor whose refusal rate passes 5% risks losing the right to enrol international students at all. Several have restricted or paused Pakistani admissions to protect that figure.

Which is why the file matters more than it used to

Almost none of these refusals are about grades. They are about money that cannot be traced, an answer that contradicts a submitted document, or a gap with nothing in it.

And why we would rather delay you than file you

If your file is not ready, we will say so. A refusal costs you the fee, the intake and, if deception is found, up to ten years.

The limits

What we will not do.

This list is not decoration. It is the standard, and you are entitled to hold us to it.

No false hope

If your result, your English or your funds do not support the plan you want, you will hear that in the first meeting rather than after you have paid. A consultant who tells every student yes is not advising anyone.

No fake promises

Nobody can guarantee a visa. It is decided by an officer we do not control, on evidence you provide. Anyone promising an outcome is selling you something they cannot deliver.

No fabricated documents

Not a statement, not a letter, not an experience certificate. An answer or a document that contradicts your file can be treated as deception and carries a ten-year ban. We would rather lose a client than do that to one.

No charging for what is free

Chevening, HEC and government scholarships are applied for directly by you, at no cost. Any consultant charging a fee to submit one is charging you for something that is free. We will help you understand them; we will not invoice you for them.
