LanguageCert preparation in Lahore.

LanguageCert International ESOL / SELT, run by PeopleCert. Below is what it costs, how it is structured, who accepts it, and where Pakistani students most often go wrong with it.

LanguageCert at a glance

What you are actually booking.

Format and scoring

Structure

Written (Listening, Reading, Writing) and Spoken taken separately, on the same day or up to 14 days apart. SELT versions must be taken at an approved SELT centre.

Scoring

CEFR levels A1 to C2 rather than a numeric band.

Results

Fast, often within days.

Fee and acceptance

Approximate fee

Varies by level and centre; confirm at booking. Generally below IELTS for the equivalent level.

SELT for UK visa

Yes, but only the SELT version. LanguageCert also sells a non-SELT International ESOL test, and the two are not interchangeable.

Worth knowing

SELT candidates also receive the corresponding International ESOL certificate free.

Watch out: This is the single most common expensive mistake we see. Universities are tightening: some stopped accepting the non-SELT version in 2026. Booking International ESOL when the university needs LanguageCert SELT wastes the whole fee.

Fees checked August 2026 and quoted as a planning guide. Confirm the current price on the official booking page, and confirm with your counsellor which version your university and visa route accept.

Inside the test

What LanguageCert actually asks you to do.

Knowing the task types is most of the preparation. These are the ones that decide scores, and the ones our classes drill hardest.

1

The Written exam (Listening, Reading, Writing) and the Spoken exam are separate sittings, taken on the same day or up to fourteen days apart.

2

Speaking is a live interview with an examiner over video, not a recording.

3

Tasks are built around real-life situations rather than academic abstractions.

4

You are graded against a CEFR level rather than a numeric band, so you either meet the level or you do not.

Who it suits

Is LanguageCert the right test for you?

Good where a university accepts it and you want a cheaper, faster SELT than IELTS for UKVI.
